Scientific Linux and Centos 6.x Multimedia How-to 32-bit and 64-bit

**** Update i recommend you install yum priorities plugin to avoid base system files getting replaced. As of this writing the files replaced are alsa based files and causes no system issues, but for some modifying the base system is an issue, so i have tested the whole install again with the priorities plugin and all works as expected. ****

Now just to be clear all this works for both 32-bit and 64-bit Scientific Linux.

Flac to Mp3 Simplified for Linux

The script listed below takes arguments in the following fashion. either you can specify a single file name to convert or you can specify a wildcard as example 2 shows.
Example 1: Flac2Mp3 01-The Black Parade.flac
Example 2: Flac2Mp3 *.flac

To use this script just copy and paste the section below and to a filename Flac2Mp3 and the chmod+x Flac2Mp3

Step 1: Add the livna Repo

wget ; rpm -ivh livna-release-7.rpm

Step 2: Add the Macromedia Repo

wget -O /etc/yum.repos.d/macromedia-i386.repo

Step 3: Install Multimedia Applications

yum -y remove totem totem-plparser;yum -y install totem-xine totem-xine-plparser rhythmbox libdvdcss libdvdread libdvdplay livdvdnav lsdvd mplayerplug-in mplayer mplayer-gui xine-lib-extras-nonfree libdvdcss libdvdread libdvdplay compat-libstdc++-33 flash-plugin mozplugger
