Fedora 12 Multimedia howto
Well It is that time again, Fedora 12 is out and looking pretty good so far.
Listed below once again is how to get multimedia support, here are some of the programs i had to install in order to get full functionality. Just remember the following steps all need to be done as user "root".
Step 1: Add the livna Repo
rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release.rpm
Step 2: Add the Macromedia Repo
rpm -ivh http://linuxdownload.adobe.com/adobe-release/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.no...
Step 3: Install RpmFusion Repos
rpm -Uvh http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-stable... http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-...
Step 4: Install Multimedia Applications
yum -y install lsdvd libdvdnav libdvdread ffmpeg gstreamer-ffmpeg gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-plugins-bad-extras gstreamer-plugins-ugly libdvdcss
you should now have full multimedia and video support for all popular formats. If you experience any issue feel free to post a reply.
*** Updated due to forgetting to add the RPM FUSION repo's in the howto. ***
